Video of Benteke’s goal for Belgium tonight
Always nice to see a Villa player score, be it for us, or for their country, and Christian Benteke scored the first goal for Belgium tonight in their impressive 3-0 victory against Serbia.
Here’s the video for you:

It was a tidy finish for the striker, and he did well to create some space and finish with aplomb. This provides hope that the miss against Tottenham, which might well have been an easier chance, was just a blip. In one of our articles earlier we highlighted how he is currently having the most shots on goal per game in the Villa ranks, and he could very easily have more than just the one goal he’s managed so far.
He can be frustrating to watch at times, but against West Brom he created a couple of chances for himself, and I remember him going close with headers against Southampton, and in the aforementioned Tottenham game. He’s still only young, he’s going to make mistakes but he could be a very good player for us.
With plenty of people waxing lyrical about Belgium at the moment, it’s nice to see one of our own starting for them, and scoring when presented with the chance. It can’t be easy to get into that side, so hopefully he takes the confidence gained from this international break, and starts getting on the scoresheet more regularly for the Villa.
Finally just want to apologise if the video goes down, will check the post now and again to see if it’s still working.
UTV, and well done Christian!
